In Japan the warrior elite were known as the Samurais. Formed between the 9th and 12th centuries, the Samurais emerged from the provinces of Japan to become the ruling class until their decline and later total abolition in 1876 during the Meiji Era. Samurai warriors described themselves as followers of "The Way of the Warrior". From the earliest times, the Samurai felt that the path of the warrior was one of honour, emphasizing duty to one's master, and loyalty unto death. These bronzed resin figurines are hand painted and feature a subtle colour highlight. The quality of finish and detail are excellent - they're ideal men's gifts. |
