Originating from the southwest region of Scotland with the same name, the Galloway is known as one of the purest, hardiest, and probably one of the oldest, of the UK's native breeds. There are many characteristics of Galloway cattle which make them an outstanding and unique animal; none more so than the distinctive white 'belt' around their girth.
